Eagle Bio-Fuels Blends Kernel Corn with Pellets for Heating

Plainview, Minnesota 12/06/07
Eagle Bio-Fuels uses kernel corn from a single grower, Kruger Family Farms, and mixes it with hardwood, softwood and agra pellets. Eagle products are available in 40# paper perforated bags and bulk. According to Sue Kruger, CEO of Eagle Bio-Fuels, "Partnering the two ingredients together gives the customer burning and budget options." Heat ranges from 7400 to 8400 BTU and .6 to 1 % ash depending upon the ingredients mixed with the corn. Customers report that pellet & corn blends burn longer than straight biomass pellets and provide more heat than burning straight corn as well as easier stove and furnace maintenance.

Eagle corn is dried to less than 12% and screened clean. Premium pellets are screened and then blended in ratios of 75/25, 50/50 and 25/75. Because all ingredients are metered and conveyed prior to packaging, Eagle can guarantee consistent heat and a clean biomass product. Custom blending and private labeling is available.
